How the calculation works
This calculator counts the exact number of complete years, months, and days between your date of birth and any reference date. Unlike a simple subtraction of years, it correctly accounts for varying month lengths and leap years, so if your birthday hasn't occurred yet this calendar year, it won't count an extra year you haven't actually reached.
It also converts your age into total days, weeks, months, and hours lived, and counts down the days until your next birthday, handy for planning celebrations or simply satisfying curiosity.

Frequently Asked Questions
How are leap-year birthdays counted?
For someone born on 29 February, most calculators treat 28 February or 1 March as the birthday in a non-leap year. In UK law, a person born on 29 February legally turns a year older on 1 March in non-leap years.
Does the calculator include the day I was born?
Age is the time elapsed since your birth date, so the birth date itself is not counted as a full day of age.
Why might my age in months differ from another tool?
Months have different lengths, so tools that use an average of 30.4 days per month can differ by a day or two from one that counts calendar months.
