About WiseYields
Free, accurate financial calculators and plain-English money guides — built for UK and US households who want to make smarter decisions without expensive advisers.
Why We Built This
The idea for WiseYields came from a frustration most people recognise: you want a straightforward answer to a money question — "how much can I borrow?", "what will I take home after tax?", "am I saving enough for retirement?" — and what you find online is either buried in jargon, locked behind an adviser fee, or riddled with affiliate product recommendations dressed up as advice.
We built WiseYields to fix that. A single place where you can run accurate financial calculations, read practical guides written in plain English, and download useful reference resources — all completely free.
We are not financial advisers. We do not sell insurance, mortgages, or investment products. We are not regulated by the FCA. What we are is a team of researchers and developers who care about financial literacy — and who believe that with the right tools, most people can make significantly better money decisions on their own.
What Makes WiseYields Different
Verified Against Official Sources
Every calculator is checked against current HMRC tables, Bank of England data, and official government guidance — not third-party estimates. We update rates and thresholds as soon as HMRC publishes them each tax year.
Written for Real People, Not Accountants
We strip out the jargon. Whether you want to know your take-home pay, how much you can borrow, or whether to overpay your mortgage, our guides answer in plain English with real worked examples.
No Sales Pressure
We earn revenue through advertising and clearly disclosed affiliate partnerships. This never influences our calculator results or editorial recommendations. When we link to a product, we say so — and explain why we recommend it.
Free. Always.
Every calculator, every guide, every downloadable resource on WiseYields is free to use. No subscription, no paywall, no account required. We believe access to accurate financial information should not be a privilege.

Our Editorial Standards
Accuracy matters. Financial misinformation costs people real money. Every piece of content on WiseYields is held to these standards:
- All UK income tax and NI figures verified against the latest HMRC published rates for the 2026/27 tax year.
- Mortgage calculations use standard lender stress-test methodology (3% above SVR) as required by FCA guidelines since 2014.
- Pension projections use PLSA retirement living standards benchmarks, not arbitrary figures.
- US calculators use IRS published 2026 federal tax brackets and official Social Security Administration data.
- All articles are reviewed for accuracy before publication and updated whenever regulations change.
- We distinguish clearly between estimates (our calculators) and regulated financial advice (which we do not provide).
